April 25th 2002 - SF1.80 news

SF1.80
News
Storm and Hold is the name of one of the new game types to be included in 1.80

Storm and Hold:
Two teams battle for the possesion of a "nuclear briefcase" located in the middle of the map.
Once captured the team can move around the map with the case.
The team has to hold that object for the longest amount of time to win the round.
The case is shown as an icon on the radar so everyone knows where to find it.
The new Storm and Hold maps are being designed so its almost impossible to camp on them.
Respawning will occur in groups and 20, 40 and 60 second intervals

The reason you have to guard the "case carrier" will promote team work.

April 22nd 2002 - Tribes2 is not dead

Tribes2
MOD
The company that Optimizer runs: Vision Studios is looking in the Tribes2 community for someone to help them create a MOD/demo for the Tribes2 engine.
This new First Person Shooter MOD/demo will update all aspects of Tribes2, and bring it to a real world military theme. It will update everything to be realistic and will feature real guns instead of energi weapons, the ground and air vehicles will be replaced by tanks, jeeps, planes and helicopters. Its planned to make this MOD/demo easier to play then Tribes2.

This is NOT SF2.0 but a project that will run parallel with the other projects Vision Studios is working on.
